The End

This is my last documentation video from Art Farm. I have some clips to be worked into machinima at some point along with footage from other LEA sims. Of the documentary type, I have twelve public and one private video. Not too bad, although I didn’t promote them beyond showing a few people.

I’ve learned a lot and have some idea of how I want to move forward on my own. I believe this is my last post here except to add a link some day to where I’ve moved on to.

Transition

A piece that Corcosman Voom had on display for the last week or so.

And 2015 is almost done. Medici University and Art Farm were a huge part of my virtual life and indeed the life of my human this year.

A view of the sandbox.

I have this documentary photo blog. Veyot has posted a Vimeo with a final look around the Farm. I’m so glad she filmed it before I took down my gallery and film set!

Also there is a notice out of the next steps….The Wanderlust Project. It will start in the Wanderlust Diner. There is also a small city up in the sky. This is courtesy of aemeth lysette and Serra Quendra.

SLollywood.

As for me, I want a break.

I hope to maintain some of the friendships I’ve made. As many of us experience in Second Life, most of the people on my contact list don’t actually have time to speak to me. I’ve noticed I’ve been purged in some of the year end clearings out.

There are things I want to tweak on my main blog, Million Happy Endings. I intend to play with machinima for a while and do more creative 2D photos. I feel like avoiding the Flickr and WordPress feeds for a while. I like this Whole process to happen more organically.

I can slowly learn some building again. (I’ve forgotten what little I’ve learned.)  I am less interested in the academic and philosophical aspects of creativity in SL than the people I’ve come into contact with. Or at least in having discussions about them. (I feel comfortable talking with Art Oluja about these things though.)

I would like to do more story telling. But I like being immersed as a character who is on a creative journey in a virtual world. Any sketching and real life art I want to keep in the physical world as much as possible. This is another area where I differ from many of the avatars I’ve met. This is not saying that this journey is less meaningful to me.

It matters to me. The way I do it is enough. I can find meaning in the liminal areas of a virtual creative journey.

So I will make a new blog, details coming soon. I guess I can organize it into categories of my private journey, my interfacing with the Wanderlust Project ( or VB Friends community) and also my experiences with LEA artists and sims.

Last year I explored opensim but I really don’t have time to spread myself that thin, unless something changes. The things I’m interested in, like machinima, I can’t leave for too long due to the ephemeral, perishable nature of virtual worlds.

Maybe I can make up nicknames for the three categories to decrease the likelihood of the blog being found. I am not hiding, I just don’t want to deal with the opinions of others.

Let me have this one area of my life, please!

As I’ve mentioned before, I will add some of the documentary videos here as they become available. I may share these links to a select few who might be interested in the memories here. This meant a lot to others too, I know. They just weren’t as prone to blogging as I am. Or perhaps they have secret stashes of memories too.

A wonderful stepping stone and learning experience!

Party Planning

party planning 1

The evening of the 29th, Marie and I had been talking about her telenovela. Serra Quendra wandered by and soon a litle party plan was thrown together for the following evening. Of course, we couldn’t accommodate all time zones and many people are not logging in during the holidays so there is that.

party planning 2

After Serra and I rode around on the gator (Marie wants a gator scene in her machinima) the party idea randomly came to be. Serra eventually made an opaque glass dance floor above the sandbox. My contribution was showing up and collecting some seating for around the edges of the floor.

party planning 3

Serra showed us a photo she’d taken of Medici University at the end of LEA round 8.

party planning 4

Marie got to work on creating a rezzable invitation for the party, the next evening between 8 and 11 p.m. SLT.

Notices were sent out. Jessica Pixel was to provide the live stream.

party planning 5

Here the party area was beginning to take shape. I don’t have photos of the event but I have a few film clips that will show up somewhere eventually.

A view of Unsanctioned Art from the platform.

And this is part of the value of networking and community. Things just come together sometimes.

Yolanda!!

Yolanda! 3

This is really not my story to tell but I can tell a little of it. It’s part of how Art Farm operated. In the photo above I’m sitting in RMarie Beedit’s barrio studio. She’s been quite busy the last six weeks, doing some admin duties and also assisting Newton Mr with his Transformational Creativity workshop at Metamorfaces.

This was a few days before our time at LEA 28 was up. Newton, shown above, mentioned that Marie had a last minute idea for a film. I made myself available as the character, Yolanda.

Yolanda 1

A very minimal amount of discussion took place in e-mail, mainly about the selection of my wardrobe. Some filming got done in the barrio when Marie logged on and also out by the car when we left the party on the 30th. Isadora Alaya and Art Oluja joined us. Some filming was done at a hospital too.

Yolanda 2

This was the outfit Marie had me wear. Later I wore a pink hospital gown. More filming will have to be done, I think. But I trust it will all come together.

Yolanda! 4

Newton has the film equipment but it is Marie’s production. I filmed a bit of studio lot filming which will show up somewhere eventually.

After Marie logged on, the talk soon turned to a last minute party which I’ll post about next.

Photos on the Hard Drive

12_31 1

It’s actually the last day of 2015. These are photos on the hard drive of my HP laptop. My human is carrying over many projects into the New Year but we’re going to make a last dash effort on a few of them, including wrapping up the posts here at this blog. There will be some video clips that will have to wait, of course. Last night I filmed a little of the closing party. I knew I wouldn’t be able to take photos as well at the same time because of crashing.

Above is a frame by Veyot around the picture I put on the wall of her film set, taken of me IN the film set.

12_31 2

Here is Bethany Blue’s project at an earlier stage. She ran out of time this session but is going to finish it in a sandbox.

12_31 3

This is RMarie Beedit, taken some weeks ago before these spots were filled. I may have used some of the photos before. I’m really not taking the time to look.

12_31 4

I know this was taken weeks ago, when Bethany first mentioned her project. I did some filming of this scene which is linked to from a previous post.

I got a year end analytic report from WordPress. Evidently I might have up to three mystery readers, although perhaps it’s just one that has been checking regularly. That has added much to my enjoyment and amusement of documenting this project.

12_31 5

There were odd visitors late at night. There is one blending into the background, sort of above my head in the photo) and he communicated oddly too.

12_31 6

The Planet sandbox was quite lively the last few weeks. Well, before that too.

12_31 7

I love the landscaping Art Oluja did for me at my SLollywood film set.

12_31 8

And I don’t know when I’ll ever have the available prims to use this Victorian home again. There is talk of where we will  move to next but I won’t go into that here. Not now.

12_31 9

A shot of the tree I put up at Unsanctioned.

Actually I am seriously thinking of starting another low key blog of my ongoing creativity journey. This will include other avatars as well but in a more personal, organic way than the way I report on Million Happy Endings. I will continue to respect people’s privacy and be generally positive.

12_31 10

This is a view towards the front door of Elle’s theater gallery. The images of the art on the walls are blurry. These are cropped photos but otherwise unedited.

I’m going to change the date for this to several days ago. There will likely be a few more photos because I’m going to check my other computer.

After that, there will be a few videos as I can get them done for the winding down of Art Farm Co-op, LEA 28, round 9.

Winding Down ~ Sandbox

artfarm_12_18_006

There are things moving around  in the sandbox. Serra has done a great leadership in helping the participants in setting up a “planet”.

artfarm_12_18_008

This was taken from the tower there. My equipment and editing skills aren’t up for doing justice to what’s here but it’s going to have to be adequate documentation.

Winding Down ~ Write the Plank

Savage Taurus placed his black out piece that he made for Newton and Art’s workshop on one of the boardwalk spots.

Winding Down ~ Unsanctioned Art

Snapshot_003

I’m not spending as much time at my gallery these days.

Snapshot_001

I got to see a piece Elle Thorkveld created for Asmita created for a poem an avatar wrote. She rezzed it briefly in front of her gallery.

The memories installation has a few more photos.

A few more photos.

Winding Down ~ SLollywood

Snapshot_004

The prims remain but my heart and energy is out of this project because my first life is more important. I like to sit near my twinkling lighted tree in the Victorian film set. I collect film clips when I can and I may use them some day.

When I was wearing my Santa Claudia snow suit I jumped into the pose on a meditation billboard.
